The 学校心理学 area at ISU includes specialist and doctoral degree programs in school psychology, both of which are approved by the National Association of School Psychologists. Both degree programs follow a scholar-practitioner model and emphasize knowledge and skills in assessment and data-based decision making, prevention and intervention, consultation and collaboration, 研究与评价, and professional practice and standards. We also offer a graduate certificate in psychoeducational assessment (non-degree seeking). The certificate is designed to provide selective, high-quality training in the areas of cognitive, 成就, and social-emotional assessment. The curriculum is designed to support persons who are wanting to serve as psychometricians in the school setting, or those individuals who are wanting to explore foundational concepts of school psychology practice without first committing to full-time graduate training. Our training incorporates online, hybrid and on-campus coursework, designed with commuters and working professionals in mind. 

Degree-seeking students engage in extensive field-based experiences beginning in the first semester of study and continuing throughout the program. All students complete field experiences in both school and community settings. Doctoral students participate in additional diverse field experiences in non-school settings (e.g., residential treatment facilities, 医院, mental health agencies) and in our own interdisciplinary university training clinic. 

Our faculty is comprised of exceptional practitioners and applied researchers who have diverse professional backgrounds and interests.
